Eduardo Saron é superintendente do Itaú Cultural desde 2002, responsável pelas atividades culturais do instituto ligado ao banco Itaú, em São Paulo. É também membro da Comissão Nacional de Incentivo à Cultura, como representante da Federação Brasileira de Bancos (Febraban).

“Acho que tem algumas condições fundamentais para você ser um bom gestor, como estar muito conectado, ter a perspectiva do conhecimento, onde você precisa a todo momento estar se alimentando. É consumir muito cultura e sem preconceito. Quem diria que o technobrega pudesse interferir tanto na cultura deste país? E interfere, está produzindo, está deixando um legado, está produzindo aí um movimento para outras matizes musicais. E, por fim, pensar a respeito da sustentabilidade, não sobre sustentabilidade do ponto de vista econômico, mas a sustentabilidade talvez do ponto de vista ambiental mesmo, no sentido do seguinte: o que desta conexão, desta condição de conhecimento, eu estou deixando de perene e de legado?”
“O acaso também cabe. A gente planeja muita coisa, o Itaú Cultural planeja muita coisa, mas, às vezes, você está diante de projetos extremamente inovadores que a gente não tinha planejado. E aí o que vem? Vem a sua capacidade de poder suportar o risco. Alguns dos editais a gente sabe que nós vamos lançar, nós sabemos o que nós estamos lançando, mas às vezes a gente não sabe o que a gente vai receber de projetos inscritos. Isso faz parte do risco da instituição, isso faz parte desta compreensão de que investir em arte e cultura não necessariamente significa investir na obra pronta e acabada, às vezes é só investir no processo criativo do artista.”
